They are fleeing to Mexico and Baja, CA for medical treatment and care, and to live. The medical treatment is pretty good, as many of the doctors and dentists work in CA, as well as Baja. This is not just people going down for the day for prescriptions, but major medical care (operations, full sets of dental impants, etc). I think this is a valid discussion. I am sure many in the northern US are going to Canada, but I am personally involved with those going to Baja. I wil be moving there this summer, because I cannot afford to keep my house of 25+ years.
I hope one day to film a documentary on tis issue, I am that passionate about it.

Dear Sir
I am an avid watcher of your show here in Saudi Arabia. I have been a diabetic now for over 35 years and have maintained relatively good health. 3 years ago whilst in Australia I purchased a Animas insulin pump and since then my control has been so much better, but it still remains hard , here in the middle east especially with the severe weather conditions.
I read recently that Animas (Johnston & Johnston ) were in the process of producing a device that would go sub cutaneous and contninually monitor my blood sugars the bluetooth them tho my insulin pump?
Since roughly 65% of Saudi national have type 1 and 2 diabtetes and your show is translated in to Arabic I think it would be a good idea for your show to do a segment on the latest technology available for diabetes control.
I take this oppertunity to thank you and I hope to hear from you soon

I know typically your show is dedicated to health, but is is unhealthy in our society not to talk about the fact that we will ALL die some day. It is a shame that as both a community and as health care providers, we are not educated properly about the wonderful services of hospice. The sad fact is that most patients are needlessly suffering simply because they are referred to hospice far too late for them (and their loved ones) to truly experience all the benefits that aggressive comfort care have on quality end of life. Everyone deserves to have a good death, and for our loved ones to be supported and cared for during and afterward. Far too many live out their final months or weeks in an ICU or hospital setting, undergoing uncomfortable life prolonging curative treatments that also are causing our health care system and Medicare to be in a financial crisis. Many think hospice care hastens death, on the contrary, patients on hospice live an average of 27 days longer than patients with similar diagnosis and circumstances that are not enrolled in a hospice program. I happen to work for an amazing hospice agency, that honors life and offers hope to it's patients and families. We provide aggressive comfort care that adds to quality of life. I hope you will consider doing a segment, or better yet, an entire show on quality hospice care. This may ensure that people have education and therefore earlier access to hospice, to truly be able to benefit from all the knowledge, expertise, support, compassion, and amazing care that the hospice services have to offer!
