I'm outside with friends just walking around town. My head/hair is drenched. No one else has that problem. It happens when I'm just sitting still.

please do a show on lichen sclerosus in the vagina that affects mostly older females but also sometimes children and men. It's a life of living hell for us all and most husbands leave their wives when they get lichen sclerosus. I would so much like to hear your thoughts and also have notice when it will be on tv. Eventually some women get vaginal cancer from either the steroid ointment applied or because you don't apply the ointment. Either way you're damned.
Please write back and give date if you will have it on your show This is something that needs to be addressed.

I think many of us would find it helpful to see a discussion about the various titles nurses and other care givers have--what they mean and what responsiblities they can have. Some that come to mind are RN, LPN, NP, PA. EMT--and I'm sure there are many others.

I am a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in NJ and specialize in treating children and adults with respiratory problems partially or wholly due to a condition known as Paradoxical Vocal Fold Motion (PVFM) or Vocal Cord Dysfunction (VCD). In essence, when this occurs, the vocal cords are partially or almost adducted (closed) creating a narrowing of the airway and difficulty breathing. There are many triggers that may cause this to occur, such as, gastroesophageal reflux disease, chronic coughing, exercise, inhaled irritants, allergies, increased stress and anxiety, etc. It mimics the symptoms of asthma and frequently goes undiagnosed. Many patients that I have seen have been misdiagnosed for long periods of time and treated with many medications without relief. They often go to the emergency room because they "can't breathe", and are sent home on steroids and nebulizer treatments. When it is correctly diagnosed, speech therapy focusing on providing education, reducing coughing behaviors, and relaxing the upper body and laryngeal areas is often very effective in relieving the symptoms.
I have treated many adolescents, primarily female, who experience this when engaged in sports activities. I recommend accessing more information from National Jewish Medical & Research Medical Center in Denver, Colorado ( http://www.nationaljewish.org/ ).
Thank you so much for this opportunity to discuss VCD! I am very passionate about this because there may be a very easy fix to something that is completely devastating to the individual experiencing this problem.
