A show with audience children and... This would be a great way to get children interested in healthy choices. Children who go to show could receive scrubs in pink or blue or other colors with their name monogrammed on. And/or a doctor's jacket.

Have a contest at LA schools, not just one, to write in questions for the doctors and in a random drawing pick audience. Then, everyone at their schools would be excited and could have a tape to watch at school assembly.

Or teachers could pick most unpopular children in school so they'd instantly be popular. A good way to interject Jay's anti-bully pledge too. Four for all levels of school: grade, junior high, high school and college.

One day I was sitting in a large crowd where you have to sit and take a number to be called, and I was excited to find an open seat. As various peope arrived and search for seats, I looked across the room and noticed a lady wearing one of those TB looking masks over her nose and mouth.

One day I was sitting in a large crowd where you have to sit and take a number to be called, and I was excited to find an open seat. As various peope arrived and search for seats, I looked across the room and noticed a lady wearing one of those TB looking masks over her nose and mouth.

You could see the people parting from her like the Red Sea. I am uttering to myself, "P-l-e-a-s-e God, do n-o-t let her sit by me." Apparently my prayer went unanswered because the woman sat right beside me. Other people on the same row, actually rudely got up and moved.

I am such a empathetic person I didn't want to hurt the woman's feelings, or embarrass her even more by getting up and running away like the other people did in the room, even if I was secretly dreading her presence beside me. So, I sat there almost hypo-ventilating trying to take shallow breaths until I felt like I would pass out, hoping that would help me not be exposed to whatever she was contagious with. That was difficult to do.

With the real threat of Swine Flu, and other epidemics on the way, and other people wearing masks for who knows what reason, when do we know who to stay clear of. Is it rude to treat them like a leper and move or run away from them or wise to move a safe distance.

In the case of TB, how effective is that mask in a communal room?

Should we purchase mask to wear during epidemics? What kind? When to wear them?

How can we protect ourselves from airborne illness?

Dear Doctors:
You have addressed so many wonderful and useful topics and I admire your groundbreaking efforts. Unfortunately most of the subjects are focused on main stream people, who have insurance, a voice and financial stability.
I am asking you to consider dedicating a show to the victims and survivors of domestic violence. Often, there is no insurance, financial means, support or even considered an ‘open’ topic, though it affects all spectrums of society (and often the more ‘known’ someone is the harder it is to ask for help).
You could take the topic through your entire expertise: from the victim in an ER and what should be done, (IE safety planning/resources and checking for strangulation), knowing being pregnant is one of the two most deadliest times for a victim (the other is trying to leave the relationship), how children who witness or are victims are often misdiagnosed w/ ADHA instead of PTSD and the wonderful group of plastic surgeons and dentists who help ‘undo’ the visible scars of abuse. I believe you have all most likely encountered numerous patients and it would be very meaningful if there was a huge platform, such as your show, to disseminate useful and practical information. It’s usually only the direct providers (counselors, etc) who are trained in this and in my opinion, it needs to become general knowledge.
Please also include male victims: straight and gay. They are a minority but also suffer horrendous abuse. I have counseled survivors of DV and sexual assault, developed the first DV program for a local police dept., was certified to help put at risk victims and their families into hiding when necessary, wrote educational articles for a local newspaper, trained first responders and local citizens and owned/ran a women’s sober house where the majority of residence had survived abuse.
Please consider this less than glamorous but pervasive topic. I would be glad to lend any support or information I can because I believe in the importance of this silent epidemic.

Part of good health is a healthy environment and over 50% of what is trashed could be recycled, refurbished or donated. These thrift stores could have a debit card for the many THE DOCTORS & Dr. Phil website members in need that website moderators could issue for members in need.

State-of-the-art website for GETTING REAL GOING GREEN W/PIZZAZZ THRIFT STORES to link up all charities so overstocked charities no longer throw away perfectly good items since no place to store.

I was shocked to discover a charity I donated to throwing away over 100 books in very good condition and some autographed and to learn done weekly BY MANY CHARITIES since no place to store and no time to share. So potential donors could watch online for when an opening to donate and store at home.

I am a proponent of preventative medicine for persons AND the earth & makes far more sense to clean up our act now as a team "one for all and all for one". I cannot think of a better legacy OR anything better for our children than a healthy earth to thrive/live on. I've seen valuable antiques and history trashed and saved a lot. Is not our history as valuable as King Tut's we pay to go see while trashing ours. I say YES!

Cycle is often from garage, moving, estate et al sale to curb to dump bound. Pianos of fine wood, vintage & antique, by the score FREE under FREE under FOR SALE on Craigslist NATIONWIDE could begin a music program at YMCA, schools et al. Yes, beautiful antique, fine wood pianos are trashed as well even by piano companies that remove used to sell new electronic. I'd love a recycled home made of this fine wood rather than see ruined in dump yet how much better for a lovely after school or in school music program. I was talking to a woman who still remembers her "public" school having pianos for a piano class.

These thrift stores could have, in front section, a coffee shop chain like Starbucks or new chain with Jay's wife, Erica's, Triplets Gourmet treats to make donating fun and cool to do. People can donate while stopping by for a beverage or treat.

Its website could have computer games of what items can be donated and recycled. Stores could have online sales as well and a wonderful way to teach young persons or rehabilitate persons to recognize valuable history & antiques that quite often are seen on Antique Road Show. Saw $100,000 of original music scores or movie scripts someone found set curb side from an attic in an old house someone bought. Saw a table a woman bought for $3 at a garage sale worth $1 Million. Our nation could be in the black from revenue of what is trashed if we don't turn our backs with a commitment to do better pact.

Could be an Angel Brigade even online to print out and pass out donation locations @ Estate and Moving et al Sales. See, quite often persons moving will be fined $1,000 if anything left in homes when sold or rental lease terminates so set curb side. So, as well, just ask people to neatly set by curb if have a time deficit and cover if possible & tag for Angel Brigade Pickup. See, it is true it takes a village and that village is us. Make it fun and they will come... Time to roll up our sleeves and get the job done. IMPROVE EARTH & CHIDREN'S FATE: CONSERVE, RECYCLE, & DONATE... (AND EDUCATE HOW.)
