I too have been withoutsex. We've been married 26 years. I am deeply in love with my husband, I would NEVER leave him. He is my best friend... Both of our tempers are much shorter than they were 26 years ago, even 15-20 years ago. there are blow ups by each of us several times a week (I am menopausal) Hormones do not abound in our house. Testosterone injections worked for him for about 3 1/2 years 1.5 cc every three weeks I give him his injections. Now within 3 hours of his injection he can get into what I call rage (I do also, rage breeds rage) We used to have fun together, now most days it is just another day.I injured my right foot so Ballroom dancing is not in my near future he still goes. but most days he comes in eats, goes back to work then comes in eat watch TV go to bed to sleep and start all over the next day There is no romance or sex in our home. this hurts him terribly if I say anything I do not want to hurt or embarrass him so I mostly keep it to myself. This comes under the for better for worse, in sickness and in health vows. It has been so long since we've had intercourse I don't remember. I don't think it's been since we've lived in this home (13 years) testosterone injections do it all for him( Levitra etc do not work) happy, angry, annoying, goofy, mad, difficult. I have to walk on eggshells for the first several days after an injection. Keeping in mind I am also on hormone replacement therapy so my temperment is not a joy to be around either. I am creative and have always been passionate about anything, needless to say it finds its way into my anger as well as my joy and creativeness. We are both on antidepressants which don't quite do it. I've researched this endlessly. There are conflicting opinions on the subject. I would like to see a show on men's testosterone levels as well as their androgen's etc.. My husband is 12 years post-op quintuple bypass & diabetic. "panamint" is correct it does make a different person initially , but after several years it isn't all for the better. please also include how testosterone effects mood & how womens hormones including testosterone and other hormones change age and that what is "normal for some is not normal rages for all.etc. I should mention, I am a chronic pain patient, over weight, ( have lost 88 pounds over three years) thyroid disease, non functioning pituitary adenoma, migraineur and health issues several other issues.. Help us and those like us doctors.
