So sorry I haven't been on in awhile, but I have been feeling like crap. I have asthmatic bronchitis, and am on a whole bunch of meds, that are supposed to help the key word being supposed to cuz its almost been a week and I still feel like crap! Anyways, I was wondering if anyone else is or has ever been on the neb or the inhaler atrovent or has used it combined with another med, such as albuterol. The reason I ask is because I am currently taking prednisone, everyday to help with my asthma, which is typical when I have an episode, I am taking Flovent, twice a day, and I am taking albuterol nebs. This time however, instead of just having me take the albuterol nebs my doctors through atrovent into the mix. They said it works on different receptors in the bronchial tubes than the albuterol. Apparently alubterol will just treat the chronic inflammation once it has built up or the restriction once it is there, but can't do anything to provent it. The atrovent, will do something to provent it, but doesn't treat it very well. The thing is though that atrovent nebs taste like crap, and I don't really know if they are helping cuz I still feel sick. SO I was wondering if anyone else had used it and if so how long it had taken before they found that it started taking effect or that they noticed a difference. Please help if you can!!!
Thanks you guys are awesome!
Brianna
ps. I am also on a z-pack so I am taking 1 inhaler, 2 nebs, 1 oral steroid, plus my normal meds.

I, too, have asthmatic bronchitis. I use Advair unless, like a week ago, I was in the hospital and they gave me the Combivent inhaler. That worked really well because I went in there seriously unable to breathe adequately and when they saw me about three hours later, they gave me a breathing treatment with Albuterol and not very long afterward, I started feeling much better, so it did open my bronchial tubes. I have to use that when I get in trouble. Otherwise, I can just take Advair. Some things just don't work as well with some people. I hope you get better soon. I hope they find something that works faster for you.
