I just want to personally thank Dr. Travis for calling attention to the fact that a normal EKG does not mean that you are not having heart problems. I had 3 EKG's done when I was a baby all of which came back normal and I had a hole in my heart. The 4th EKG finally showed the problem. My cardiologist tells me this all the time, but I don't think too many other people know. This is why when my cardiologist wants to monitor my heart function and rhythm really well he makes me wear a halter monitor. It is kind of like a portiable EKG, it goes under your clothes and everything, except you have to keep a journal of your activities while you wear it, and generally you wear it for a period of 48 hours to a week, so that they can get a good sense of what is going on.
Anyways, THANK YOU DR. TRAVIS!!! this will help so many people in the long run!!
Brianna

Thanks for the info. You're right, alot of people are satisfied with the results of the first EKG even though they are still having concerns. Holter monitors are the bomb!! Hopefully all will be fine for you.
My Great Aunt was an ER nurse in NY for 40 years, and she swore that EKGs mean NOTHING on a woman. Women get the heart disease in small vessels where it won't show as easily. If you think it's a heart attack, don't walk out of that ER until they do a blood test for cardiac enzymes, which shows if you've had a cardiac even in recent weeks. This test could save many women's and men's lives!
