Scared

So guys, I am just going to put it out here....

I am a bit scared about taking these Forteo injections. I haven't started taking them yet... but still....

I know that I need them and they are the only option but at what price?

Has anyone else taken them?

Please comment if you want!

Larissalle,

My Vitamin D and my bone issues are two seperate things. We have confirmed that. The biopsy ruled out Osteomalacia which is caused by Vitamin D.  I get my vitamin D tested again later this month and if it isn't back above thirty they are going to start me on injections of vitamin D and send me to see a gastroentrologist to see about malabsorption issues.  We do know I have a partly malrotated bowel but they never fixed it because it wasn't that bad, maybe that decision is coming back to haunt us now I really don't know, I was 5 at the time that they went in and found that it wasn't as bad as they thought so they decided to just leave it.

My bones on the other hand are something COMPLETELY different. My body literally isn't making a cell. They have yet to figure out why but they do know how to correct the effect of it, Forteo.

I am going to be starting the injections soon its the right thing to do and its what my body needs more evident than ever as I broke my arm monday slipping on ice.  It's just a scary thought is all.

Larissalle,

Vitamin D is not the problem this I know.  Actually has been proven to be a symptom.  The cells you are talking about are the cells that in me are working perfectly.

There are two types. Osteoblasts and Osteoclasts.  I have no Osteoclasts.

But they have now proven that my vitamin D problem is a symptom of my bone problem.
