Hey everyone!

Hey fellow doctors fans!

I know I haven't been on for about a week or so, but things have been extremely busy.  Last sunday my cast was bugging me so I went and got it taken off and there was a huge red spot under the cast. Unluckily for me the person casting that day wasn't a cast tech she was an athletic trainer, so she just dressed the red spot and put on a new cast. By the next day ( monday) my foot was hurting again and I had two huge blisters from the new cast. So I went in and got that one taken off. Luckily this time I saw a cast tech who insisted on me seeing a doctor. He immediately reckognized what the trainer had not but I had the day before, my foot was infected. He had me get an apppointment with my Infectious Disease doctor and start putting antibiotic cream on the infected spots and blisters, and put me in a cast boot, so that we could monitor the redness. On wensday I rechecked with my actual orthopedist and she thought it looked worse than when her colleague had seen it, so she added oral antibiotics. Though she did let me off the crutches that he had put me back on.  Then yesterday I finally saw my ID doctor and he said it was infected and switched the oral antibiotic and told me to monitor it and recheck with him in a week.  In between all that I also had two physical therapy sessions, and attending all my classes at school. It was an insanely busy week.  I hope everything is going well for everyone else!
