Hi guys I am new in the Blog and wanted to say hi to all of you!
I have been having a medical problem that has bothering me for 4 years now. I just wanted to see if someone has been in my situation before.
My problem started 4 years ago when I started to have vaginal itching, white plaques in the vaginal area and numbness on the left side of the vaginal lip. I had no blisters or rised bumbs. After seeing a couple of doctors and heart various diagnoses ranging from BV and yeast infection I found a doctor who performed a biopsy and found mild squamous dysplasia. His explamation for the result was HPV. Never having before any lesions or warts I was confuced. His advice was to wait and see if the dysplasia will dissaper. Waiting made things worse for me. The skin around my vulva start turning brown without any visible ulcers, sores or warts. The doctor was confused and couldn't explain these changes.I was tested for all the major STD's, have had a couple of cultures done and all of them came negative.
Recently I started seeing a new doctor who diagnosed me with hypothyroidism and put me on levethyroxin. I am also taking estrodyle and testosterone in a compaunded form because I lost my libido. I though that things will become better thinking that my symptoms can be explained by the hypothyroidism but I was wrong. I still have the problem in the vaginal area and I even think that it is becoming worse. I have been observing resently how my inner vaginal lips which were wet , smooth and pink are starting gradually to become brown and dry. My doctor thought that this some kind of fungas infection but the culture showed nothing.A PCR test show that no HPV virus was detected.
So I am here confused seeking for some kind of similar experience if that is even possible.
Thank you!

Go to Google and search for lichen sclerosis. Seems common but no one likes to talk about it.

Go to Google and search "lichen sclerosis". Guess it's common but not many talk about it and doctors don't seem to recognize it. Gayle
