DARK CIRCLES!!! :o

I have dark circles under my eyes and I'm looking for a cure! Please Help. You'd swear I have two black eyes. I try to cover it up with makeup but it shows right through. :( I've tried tea bags and creams also.. and well.. I'm still in the same position.

People are always asking me if I'm tried or if I'm not feeling well. It feels aweful to hear constantly

I have had that same problem most of my life.  My Pictures from first grade on look like that.  If you can find a really good base and just as good foundation, it will cover them up.  Although not cheap, I use Arbonne.  Not only does it work great, it is all botanically made.  On top of that, I have started drinking a juice that gets rid of the free radicals from your body.  Until my Uncle pointed it out, I didn't even realize that my circles were almost completely gone!  So, I watched them for about another two weeks disappear!  In shock, I did a lot of studying on the juice.  On my home page, it explains how the free radicals and antioxidants work.  I still get them sometimes...if I haven't had enough sleep or if I am getting sick (which isn't to often anymore).  Can't guarantee either would work for you, but if you are as self consious about them as I, either or both are worth a try.

Something other than your kidneys you can have checked...have your P.C.P. do bloodwork for your autoimmune system.  I was once told by an E.N.T. that allergies can cause this too.  I had my autoimmune bloodwork come back with an abnormality, I have allergies, and my artery to my left kidney is narrowed-they said 30%, and 4 sleeping disorders (2 of them are caused from the 2 disorders!).  My P.C.P., as well as all of the specialists said it could be one or the other if not a combination of all!  Good luck!

Hey WinningGrace,

Have you tried good old fashioned water?

Dark Circles can come from dehydration, iron deficiency (Anemia), thinning skin, allergies, hayfever, genetics, fluid retention in that area and yes, lack of sleep.  I would go see a doctor to get bloodwork done and find out if it is anything more serious.  Chances are it won't be, but it's always better to get things checked.  I'm borderline Anemic and have to take liquid iron (natural from a health food store) so it might be something simple.

Cheerios,

Sinikka

Thanks SpryLilLady!  The cardiologist and my P.C.P. said that the artery to my kindey could conribute to mine, but they never told me that the edema could!  And I did lay off the gatorade for water.  It has more salt in it than I realized.  Thanks for the info!  Speaking of vitamins, they found that I had an extremly low Vitamin D level.  Have to take 50,000 IUs twice a week.  Wonder if that would contribute......?

I was told by my mom it runs in the family--anyone else been told this?

Great. Thank you everyone for posting. I never thought about a blood test to find out more. I have had a kidney infection before from actually beind dehydrated and not drinking enough water to help my kidneys work. I must admit I still hardly ever drink water, or much of anything :s. I didn't think those things would have an effect on my eyes.

Also, I have a 6 month old, and he has never slept a night. I'm up honestly sometimes every hour or a good night I would probably would say would be three. It's pretty draining.

I will ask to have a blood test done too just to be sure of the things that may cause it. The responces were great. Thanks again!

dark circles

I researched this on the 'Net (I myself have had this since I was born).  It's called dermal melanosystosis of the orbital rim.  Nothing to do with kidneys.  Normal.
