I'm new to the site but I have 9 year old twin boys. One has ADHD and OCD. I'm also a single mom with 2 old children. I have been raising them alone sense birth with little to no help from thier dad. I feel blessed to have had twins. But having older children helped me a lot over the years.

Sleep?  What is that.  just teasing.  I get plenty of sleep myself beside those moments when they are struck ill.  That is the worst part about having multiples in my book.  When one gets sick all they seem to get sick.  My worst moment being a parents was when my husband and I were both sick (throwing up and other end issues) as well as four of our children all at the same time.  Horable experience.  i think I could have slepted for days after those days.  As babies I did not have round the clock help.  My husband and I kinda wanted to rely on ourselves and figure out a routine where we could manage our family alone.  We took help when it was offered but learned to handle our situation.  I got up with the babies every three hours and feed all and diapered them all at the same time.  Then when my husband came home from work off to bed I went.  I was lucky to have known a mother that had quints with me a month prior to mine.  We got to know each other as we were in the hospital on bed rest.  She gave some great advice and after having all babies home from a week we were on a great routine and I managed to get all the sleep I needed.  We were lucky to have great nurses at the hospital as well in Nicu that got our schedule (feeding) started for us.  I am a believer even with multiples you can get that sleep.  You just have to be aware that you DO NEED IT.  I think many mothers want to do everything and hate to ask for help but a good mom is one that takes care of herself and in return does a better job at being a mommy to her children. 

Quintmom You are so right Moms need to take care of them selfs so they can take care of them babies. God Bless you you have your hands full.LOL
